With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Emily Sumner of Woodville, Texas, born in Wharton, Texas, who passed away on July 30, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her friend Emily (Otho); her parents, Oscar William (O. W.) and Annie Laura Heye; her former husband John O'Banion; her husband Otho W. Sumner; her son Brad O'Banion; and her sister Margaret Noonan.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Hall (Jason) of Fulshear and Gail McCullough of Austin; her daughter-in-law Rosie O'Banion of Woodville; her sister Mary K. Heye Cloud of Houston; her nieces, Kathy Weiboldt of Pasadena and Nancy Stem of Albuquerque, NM; her grandchildren, Erin DuCharme (Colin), Lauren Hall, Heather Scammon (Rick), Nicole Chastain, Kelly O'Banion and Trent Chastain (Lona); her great grandchildren, Christopher O'Banion, Jonathan O'Banion, Micah Scammon, Madison Scammon, Dylan Chastain and Jordan Chastain; her great great grandchild Oakley O'Banion; and her close friend Robert Emrich of Town Bluff.
