It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Orita Smith of Winters, Texas, who passed away on January 5, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Orita may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Orita touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Gordon and Rosa Mae Notgrass (Williams). She is survived by: her children, Marie Thompson (Bub), Gwen Sutton (Mike) and Jim Bo Smith (Sue); and her siblings, Dale Notgrass and Nita Howard. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Winters Funeral Home (120 State St, Winters, TX 79567). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (104 W Truett St, Winters, TX 79567).
