He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Caswell and Addie Jane Whitehurst (Atwood); and his siblings, Cleve, Eugene, Desi Ray, Sadie O'Bar and Rita Lipham.

He is survived by: his spouse Gayle June Willingham; his children, Candi Edwards (Tim), Penny Pinkston (Doug), Larry Whitehurst (Rose Mae) and Kelvin Keith Whitehurst (Kristi); and his grandchildren, Chris, Wayne, Kevin, Harley, Kaylee, Kade and Emily. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
