He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Salas Alvarado and Eduardo Alvarado; his wife Laura Bogolin; and his sisters, Angela Alvarado and Norma Kay DeLuna.
He is survived by: his former wife Anita Coppage; his son Jerry Lee Alvarado, Jr. of New Mexico; his former wife Elsa Vicencio; his children, Jeremy Alvarado (Alexa) of Winters, Erika Woods of Winters and Eileen Alvarado of San Marcos; his grandchildren, Justine Alvarado, Timothy Lowery, Domynic Alvarado, Malichi Alvarado, Luzion Woods, Nehemiah Alvarado and Levi Alvarado; and his brother Edward Alvarado of New Mexico. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
