She was predeceased by: her husband Billy Joe; her parents, Roy E. Young and Kathaleene Young; her brother Mack Young; her sisters-in-law, Paula Young and Bitti Young; and her son-in-law Peter Kinneberg.
She is survived by: her children, Bob Colburn (Meredith) and Cathy Kinneberg; her siblings, Sylvia Sumner (Max), Mary Aldridge (Denny), Tommy and Gary; and her grandchildren, Christen Mory (Robert), Brian Colburn, Allison Walker (Jonathan) and Jennifer Simpson (Christopher). She is also survived by five great-granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Z.I. Hale Museum in Winters, a cause close to Kay's heart.
