He was predeceased by: his father Jerry Poole; and his grandmother Mae Poole. He is survived by: his mother Hila Poole (Horton); his wife Johnette Poole (Gandy); his children, Jacob Poole (Ashley), Joshua Poole and Kasie Poole; and his sister Julie Friday (Tom). He is also survived by six grandchildren and many other family members.

In lieu of flowers, Johnny's wish was that people donate to Hooves and Halos by going to the website Hoovesandhalos.org.
