He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Gibson and Charlene Stanley Gibson; his brother Benny Gibson; and his nephew Colby Gibson. He is survived by: his wife Linda Gibson; his daughter Tammy Mayfield (Marc) of Longview, Texas.; his siblings, Marlene Messimer of Winnsboro, Pete Gibson of Winnsboro and Mike Gibson of Winnsboro; and his grandchildren, Landon Romack, Connor Romack, Krista Dickens, Kade Dickens and Kyndal Dickens. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
