He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Spears; his parents, Raymond Spears and Jessie Spears; and his sister Evelyn Martin. He is survived by: his children, Michael Spears (Denise) and Candice Highsmith (Lee); his grandson Jason Spears (Stacy); his children, Katelyn Marlowe and Benjamin Highsmith; and his great grandchildren, Avery Spears and Griffin Spears.
