He is survived by: his wife Laqueta Hankins; his sons, Chad Hankins (Stephanie) of Winnsboro, Roy Hankins (Pamela) of Sulphur Springs and Ronald Hankins (Kristi) of Krum; his siblings, Lavonda Hoffman (Billy Bob) of Pickton, Ovalene Barber of Sulphur Springs, F. O. Hankins (Butch) of Cypress Springs and Bobby Hankins (Tina) of Weaver; his grandchildren, Cordell Hankins, Amanda of Denton, Bailey Hankins, Doug Hernandez of Denton, Briar Hankins of Winnsboro and Andrew Hankins of Krum; his great grandchildren, Tucker Wayne Hankins, Zoey and Aubrey; and his grandson Corporal Dylan Reschke of Oceanside.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Hankins memory can be made to Cypress Basin Hospice.
