He was predeceased by: his father Hartwell Thomas Sapp Totten; his wife Mae Dale Totten; his children, Gary Dwayne Totten and Laura Lee Cassady; and his sister Ruie Totten.
He is survived by: his son George B. Totten IV of Riverside, California; and his grandchildren, Dwayne Totten, Damon Totten, Kimberly Totten, Natalie Wandfluh, Courtney Rorie and Victoria Smith. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
He was a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, Veterans of Foreign Wars life member, National Rifle Association, Native American Relief Fund, Second Amendment Foundation and the Freedom Alliance.
