It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alene Dickey of Winnsboro, Texas, born in Mount Vernon, Texas, who passed away on March 10, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Bessie Skidmore Ward; her husband G. C. Dickey; her daughters, Kathy Dickey, Ann Lorenz and Nelda Hallonquist; her granddaughter Regina Elder; and her brother Glynn Ward.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Dickey of Cleburne, Gayla Morris (Glenn) of Mt. Vernon and Glynda Layton (Patrick) of Winnsboro; her brother D. L. Ward (Theresa) of Aubrey; and her grandchildren, Brittany, Melissa, Justin, Mechele, Sylvia, Angela, Cory, Chris, Colby, Helena, Christina, Freda and Misty. She is also survived by twenty-four great grandchildren.
