It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ophelia Miguez-Meaux (Winnie, Texas), born in Abbeville, Louisiana, who passed away on April 20, 2018, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Della LaPlace and Paul LaPlace; and her siblings, George "Buster" LaPlace, Paul "Boo" LaPlace and Helen LeBlanc.
She is survived by: her husband Pervis Meaux; her children, Larry Miguez (Katrina), Marsha Langley (Leon), Kent Miguez (Lorene) and Steve Miguez (Tamra); her stepchildren, Ginger Mathy (Mike) and Reverend Glenn Meaux; her grandchildren, Andria Dugas (Andrew), Joseph Miguez (Rose), Shanna Norwood (Chad), Leon "Cade" Langley, Lindsay Johnson, Austin Miguez, Tad Miguez, Shea Miguez, Hannah Mathy and Sam Mathy; her great grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob, Rebecca, Mason, Macy, Bodhi, Caravaggio, Ethan and Emma; her sister Ruby Billiau; and also Joseph N. Miguez. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
