He was predeceased by: his parents, Marente Landry Sonnier and Lucas Sonnier; his grandson Jason Sonnier; and his siblings, Wilbert Sonnier, Joe Sonnier, Lou Ella Poole and Ella Mae Vaughn.
He is survived by: his sons, Leon Sonnier (Charlene) and Vernon Sonnier (Linda); his grandchildren, Jeffery Sonnier, Jennifer, Darrell Sonnier (Yvette), Kevin Sonnier (Paje), Darlene Thibodeaux (Ken) and Clint Norris; his great grandchildren, Maegan Sonnier, Jacob Sonnier, Austin Sonnier, Cullen Sonnier, Mason Sonnier, Kody Thibodeaux, Dylan Thibodeaux, Jenna Ayres, Leanne Denton (Josh), Tanner Racca and Madison Racca; and his wife Doris Sonnier.
