He is survived by: his wife Winnie Ruth; his children, Sandra Lynn Staples (Andrew "Andy" Pool), Paul Melvin Staples (Laurie Schmidt) and Nancy Ann Staples; and his grandchildren, Brian Michael McDaniel (Allison), John Paul McDaniel (Erin), Parker Madeline Staples and Caleb Wright Staples.
