He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Saunders and Helen Saunders. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Saunders; his son Thomas Saunders (Tonya); and his stepdaughters, Patti Philippone (David), Jennifer Meiners (John Paul) and Cassie Mitchell (Greg). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
