He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Emitt Stagner and Mary Stagner (Murray) of Highlands, Texas.; and his brother Ben Murray Stagner. He is survived by: his wife Jean Smith Stagner; his children, Renee Whitacre Martin (Liam Smart) and Scott Whitacre; his grandchildren, BriAnna Martin, Blake Martin, Brady Martin, Elaina Whitacre and Cydney Whitacre; his nieces, Melissa Denson (Ray) and Donna Stagner Hawks; his nephew Brad Stagner (Vicky); and his brother-in-law A. J. "Jay" Smith, III (Kay).
