He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Lawrence McDermott and Artie Lee Bush McDermott; his son Christopher James McDermott; his siblings, Thomas Leon McDermott and Marjorie McDermott; his wife Carol Ann Chambers McDermott of Wills Point, Texas; his children, Brian McDermott (Renita) of Harligen, TX, Angela Carol Trail (David) of Kaufman, TX and Gloria Diane Jackson (James) of Athens, TX; and his siblings, Michael David McDermott (Peggy) of Baton Rouge, LA and Carol Lee Goff (Gary) of Oklahoma City, OK. He was also cherished by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
