He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Matus and Albina Matus; his wife Helen Makovy; his stepfather VJ Svrcek; his brother Fr Walter Matus; his stepbrothers, Edward Svrcek, Johnny Svrcek and Joe Mach; his children, Richard, Nancy (Brian Thompson), Mike (Carrie Matus) and Greg (Jude Matus); his grandchildren, Nicole, Kelsey and Penelope; his great grandchild Bryer Lynn; and his stepsister Lilian Mach.
