He is survived by: his wife Mary "Joanie" Thompson; his children, La Jeane Thompson and Rebecca Cruz; his grandchildren, Tayler Renee and Jetta May Thompson; and his stepchildren, Kelly, Juan Vidal, Kendra, Coy Nix, Bobby Hammond and Shayne Hammond. He is also survived by many step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
