He was predeceased by: his parents, Bily Joyce Welch Culver and Elmer Boyd (Bill). He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Boyd; his daughters, Mary Newton of Conroe and Rhonda Bailey; his grandchildren, Serena Martin-West (Robert West) of Conroe, Texas, Mark Martin (Amber Miles) of Conroe, Texas and Jordan Lee Martin of Conroe, Texas.; and his siblings, Brenda (Stan), Patty, Billy, Judy (Tim), Bob (Celia) and Mickey (Cathryn). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His commitment to his work was evident in his donation of over 50 gallons of blood and plasma, and he was honored with the Presidential Award for Team Excellence in 1999.
