He is survived by: his wife Patsy Whalen of Wichita Falls, TX; his son Joe, III of SilverSpring, MD; and his siblings, Gregory Whalen of Penfield, IL, Paul Whalen (Suzi) of Brownsburg, IN, Kathi Whalen (Pete Piccirilli) of Louisville, KY and Jeanne Whalen of Peoria, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
