He was predeceased by: his parents, Myra Grantt Mendenhall and George Mendenhall; and his children, Troy Gildon and Heather Mendenhall. He is survived by: his significant other Iris Louise Flax; his sons, Trent Gildon (Yolanda) of Dallas, Texas and Gregory Thursby (Chandra) of Dallas, Texas; his grandchildren, Trenesha Tatum of Dallas, DeMarcus Tatum of Dallas and Marquette Yarbrough of Dallas; and his pet King. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, lifelong friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ainsworth & Young Funeral Home (822 Roosevelt St, Wichita Falls, TX 76301). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church (809 Harding St, Wichita Falls, TX 76301).
