She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodrow Wilson Gossom, Sr. and Georgia F. Gossom; her husband James George Stone (Jim); and her son Lawrence Emerson Stone. She is survived by: her brother Judge Woody Gossom, Jr. (Kris); her children, David Carroll Stone (Beth Smith) of San Antonio, Texas, Mark Dawson Stone (Theresa) of Englewood, Colorado and Deana Carolyn Boggess (Bill) of Cedar Park, Texas; her daughter-in-law Carol Stone of Williamsburg, Virginia; her granddaughters, Bethany Alcauter, Sarah Weaver (Cory) and Katie Greever (Don); and her great grandchildren, Jack Sapir, Tolkien Weaver, Jovita, Aspen Greever and Lainey Greever.
Viewing was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Bethany United Methodist Church (10010 Anderson Mill Rd, Austin, TX 78750). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. During Covid, Georgia came out of retirement to pastor a congregation at The Enclave of Cedar Park, an assisted living facility.
