He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Cato and Bettie Cato; his siblings, Pat Cato and Betty Irene Belcher; and his wife Wanda Maxine Bedford Cato.
He is survived by: his children, Cherri Sanes (Scott) and Carmen Peters (David); his grandchildren, Carissa Poore (Grandon), Johnathon Peters (Diana), Jache Sanes and Molleigh Sanes; and his great grandchildren, Callie, Caitlin, Colt Poore, Kaci and Keeli Peters.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Jim's name to ExtraSpecialTeas, in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, a nonprofit teahouse he helped establish for his grandson, Jache, with autism.
