He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence F. Rose and Mary Ruby Rose (Roper); his sisters, Madeline Geron and Marynell Byars-Edwards; his former wife Betty Jane Rose; and his wife Sue G. Rose.

He is survived by: his former wife Betty Jane Howard; his daughters, Sharon Wightman (Jess) of North Augusta and Susan Williamson (Richard) of Lake Hills, Texas; and his grandchildren, Jesse Wightman, Joel Wightman, John Edins, Shane Edins and Jamie Hartsfield.
