He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Carrol and Addie Lois Ballard; his grandson Jonathan Blake Dane; and his siblings, Eddie Ballard (Ruth) of Waxahachie, Larry Ballard (Diane) of Farmersville and David Bruce Ballard (Karen) of Waxahachie.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Ballard; his children, Debbie Bonner (Mark) of Joaquin, David Ballard (Victoria) of Kingwood and Joe Ballard (Kristen) of Troup; his sister Lila Whitesides of Jacksonville; and his grandchildren, Christy Smart (Neil), J. R. Dane (Anna), Beth Ann Meyers (Justin), Hannah Ballard (R. J. Palmer), Emma Springer (Hayden), Jessica Lafollett (Aaron), Drew Ballard (Kendal), Collin Ballard (Riley), Katelyn Ballard, Amanda Bell (Justin) and Wade Bonner (Lauren). He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
