He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Dettling Sr. and Geraldine Dettling; and his sister Helen Dettling Monfrey. He is survived by: his siblings, Frances Pullin (Dorman) of Caldwell, Joseph Dettling (Sheryl) of College Station, Elizabeth Moreno Tolman (Randy) of Warda and John Dettling Jr. of Wharton.
