Ann Tompkins Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 2, 2025, at the age of 91, Ann Tompkins of Wharton, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Johnston, Sr. and Leila Medsker Johnston; her husband W. W. "Buddy" Tompkins, III; and her siblings, Pauline Nicholson, Peggy Williamson, Patty Wilkerson, Wayne Johnston, Darwin Johnston and Fred Johnston, Jr..

She is survived by: her sons, V. W. "Scooter" Tompkins IV (Brenda), El Campo and Brian Tompkins (Kathleen) of Wharton; her grandchildren, Linda McCain (Aaron), V. W., Tompkins V, Marla Tompkins, Seth Tompkins and Anthony Tompkins (Genelle); and her great grandchildren, Conner, Kade and Melody.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Wharton Funeral Home (515 E Boling Hwy, Wharton, TX 77488). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
