He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Zapalac and Helen Zapalac (Smajstrla); his sister Kathy; his brother-in-law Steve Wallace; his father-in-law James R. Blair; his grandparents, Ed, Annie Smajstrla, Ludvik and Albina Zapalac; and his pet Prissy Ann.
He is survived by: his wife Melinda Zapalac of West; his sons, Jason Zapalac (Marissa) of Centenial, CO and Joshua Zapalac (Allison) of Highland Ranch, CO; his grandchildren, Luke and Madeline Zapalac; his brother Mark Zapalac (Cindy); his mother-in-law Gladys Blair; and his sister-in-law Jenna Beth Blair. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Volunteer Ambulance Association or West Rest Haven Memorial Fund.
