It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rick Lauer (West, Texas), born in Michigan City, Indiana, who passed away on January 5, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Lauer and Dorothy Lauer (Burns); and his brother Allen Lauer. He is survived by: his wife Laurie Lauer of West; his children, Gerald Lauer (Diane) of Longmont, CO and Julie Lauer of Deltona, FL; his grandsons, Aaron Lauer (Sarah) and Alexander Maier (Monica); his great grandchildren, Jace Szurek, Mylie Wheeler, MacKenzie Lauer, Maverick Lauer, Ava Maier and Vivian Maier; his sister-in-law Lori Lauer; and his children, Marable St and Paragon Church. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of West Children's Fund, 501 N. Marable St., West, TX 76691 or Paragon Church in Rio Rancho, NM, 103 Rio Rancho Drive NE - Bldg D, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.

“Sending condolences to Rick's family from Paul and Sheri Amburgey and me (their daughter, Laurie). Dad (Paul) talked very highly of Rick, having been his boss at Main and Co. when Rick was a young man, working as an "A1 top-of-the-line machinist". When Rick moved to Texas and a new career, Dad was very encouraging to and proud of Rick. They remained friends and have talked by phone over the years and Dad has always enjoyed the calls and has remained proud of Rick in a fatherly way. RIP Rick!”
