It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jan Vaculik (West, Texas), who passed away on November 22, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Jan has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.

He is survived by: his children, Jana Riley of West and Jon Vaculik of West; and his brother Karol Vaculik (Kveta). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel (808 S Reagan St, West, TX 76691). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Sokol, Czech Education Foundation of Texas; William J. Hlavinka Fellowship at Texas A&M University or charity of choice.

“Rest in eternal peace Jan Vaculík! I just learned of Jan's passing. I met Jan in fall of 1979 at his home in West. He spent more than an hour patiently helping me to find an article my grandfather Jan Štolka from Iowa wrote. I can't forget that! God bless him, and my condolences to his surviving family.
