She was predeceased by: her parents, Ed Smajstrla and Annie Smajstrla (Holecek); her spouse Jerry Zapalac; her daughter Kathy; her son-in-law Steve Wallace; and her brother George X. Smajstrla.
She is survived by: her sons, Wayne Zapalac (Melinda) of West and Mark Zapalac (Cindy) of West; her brother Edward Smajstrla; her grandchildren, Jason Zapalac (Marissa), Josh Zapalac (Allison), Jeff Zapalac and Carla Walker (Colin); and her great grandchildren, Luke, Maddie Zapalac, Aubrey and Addison Walker. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Ambulance Association.
