He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Hykel and Vlasta Hykel (Hrabal); and his siblings, Edward "Shorty" Hykel, Joe "Yoba" Hykel, Robert Hykel, Rosalie Karlik and Victor Hykel.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Hykel of West; his children, Larry Hykel (Donna) of West, George Hykel (Linda) of West, Carla Ruiz (Ernest) of Austin and Julie Deiterman (Gary) of West; his siblings, Patrick "Butch" Hykel (Joanie) and Caral Ann "Tootsie" Lehman (Richard); his grandchildren, Justin Hykel (Cristy), Lacey Hykel, Tyler Hykel (Elizabeth), Garrett Hykel (Olivia), Joseph Ruiz (Vera), Amanda Jordan (Trevor), Allison Ruiz and Ben MacMaster; and his great grandchildren, Reigan Hykel, Gage Hykel, Sophie Jordan, Abigale Hykel and Eli Hykel. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery Pavilion, St. Anne's Altar Society, or the West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
