She was predeceased by: her parents, Phillip Gupton and Margaret Gupton; her husband Jack Weems; her daughters, Margo Giesie and Jackie Jenkins; her son-in-law Harry Jenkins; her brothers, Dr. J. W. Gupton and Gordon Ray Gupton; and her sister-in-law Kathryn Gupton.
She is survived by: her children, Fran King (Jack), Mary Hill and Steve Weems (Rhonda); her grandchildren, Nick Jenkins (Deanna), Chris Jenkins (Stephanie), Matthew Wallace (Joey), Michael Wallace, Stephen Hill (Isabel), Logan Hill, Austin Weems (Madison), Robin Hail (Mike), Amy Patterson (Todd), Hara Jenkins, Megan Savant and Sara Polhemus (Kevin); and her sisters-in-law, Marguerite Gupton and Susie Weems. She is also survived by 27 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Phyllis's name to Columbia United Methodist Church or Columbia Historical Museum both located in West Columbia.
