She was predeceased by: her parents, Maness Griffin, Sr. and Mary Dee Griffin (Tinsley); and her sister Mary Lois Whitt (Griffin). She is survived by: her husband Robert Lewis of West Columbia; her son David Lewis (Angie) of Angleton; her grandson Levi (Eye); her siblings, Shirley Griffin of Pasadena, Maness Griffin, Jr. (Faye) of Brazoria, Ray Dell Griffin, Downey Griffin (Judy) of Brazoria and Linda Brown (Bobby) of Angleton; and her brother-in-law Delbert Whitt of West Columbia. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the C. T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home - West Columbia (634 S Columbia Dr, West Columbia, TX 77486). A graveside service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Old Columbia Cemetery (401 S 16th St, West Columbia, TX 77486).
Joan's strong will to live, resolute faith in God, the love and prayers of family, friends and many supporters carried her as she navigated her journey through Alzheimer's disease.
