He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi King and Agnes King; and his wife Fran. He is survived by: his children, Chloe Greuel (late Jeff) and Jack Jr.; his stepdaughters, Robin Hail (Mike) and Amy Patterson (Todd); his grandchildren, Zachary King, Alana Sawyer (Wesley), Meredith Dietrich (Justin), Jordan Hail (Emily), Darian Schmeltekopf (Eric), Emily Conner (Billy), MacKenzie Moncure (Cody) and Madeleine Howell (Jonathan); and his sister Billie Johnson (Bob). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
