He was predeceased by: his parents, Ricardo II and Isabel Vargas (Contreras); his former wives, Elidia H. Vargas and Maria Elida Carranza Vargas; and his siblings, Arturo Vargas, Margarita Vargas, Justin Vargas, Arturo C. Vargas, Isabel Vargas, Margarita V. De, Guillermo Vargas, Cointa Flores and Daniel Vargas.
He is survived by: his wife Elidia Hernandez; his children, Rick Vargas IV (Belinda), Javier Vargas (Lorena), David Carranza Jr. and Amanda M. Vargas (Jaime); his grandchildren, Ricardo Vargas V, Grace Victoria Vargas, Marcus Aguilar, Mallory N. Vargas and Matthew J. Vargas; his siblings, Roberto Vargas (Alicia), Alejandro Contreras (Lourdes), Alicia Vargas and Enrique "Henry" Vargas (Blanca); and his siblings-in-law, Francisco De, David Flores and Jennifer Vargas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
