She was predeceased by: her parents, Ismael Gonzalez and Francisca Gonzalez; her sisters, Consuelo and Luz; her daughters, Ana Maria, Francisca, Bertha and Paulita; and her granddaughters, Maria Eugenia and Anna Bertha (Santos Reyes Garza).
She is survived by: her spouse Santos Reyes Garza; her sons, Guadalupe Tamez Jr. and Ruben Tamez; and her grandchildren, Rogelio, Gilberto, Josefina, Jose Francisco and Alejandro. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
