It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Oscar Kenneth Oates of Weslaco, Texas, born in Abilene, Texas, who passed away on January 5, 2022, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Oates and Jessie Oates; his siblings, Margaret Wyche of McGregor and John Oates of Waco; his niece Leslie Anderson; and his nephews, David Wyche and David Oates. He was also cherished by many other family members and friends.

His family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the American Cancer Association.
