He is survived by: his wife Terri Lee Rush (Austin) of Fort Worth; his children, Amanda De La Rosa (Raul), Robert, Sabrina De La Rosa, Amber De La Rosa, Jennifer De La Rosa and Darik Peet; his brother Robert "Bobby" De La Rosa Jr.; and his grandchildren, Mallorie, Leighton, Damian, Keira, Robert II, Bellamie, Maylee, Journie, Corvin, Hannah, Skarlett and Annaka.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the McCaleb Funeral Home (900 W 4th St, Weslaco, TX 78596). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (520 S Illinois Ave, Weslaco, TX 78596). A burial was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Highland Memorial Park (6705 FM 88, Weslaco, TX 78596).

Born on July 14, 1947, in Mercedes, Texas, Buddy's life was marked by dedication, passion, and profound contributions to education and public service.
