He is survived by: his children, Agapito Contreras (Norma) of Lansing, MI, Juan Jose Inez Chavarria (Luisa) of Mexico, Emiterio Chavarria (Rosy) of Orlando, FL., Sergio Chavarria of Mexico, Jorge Luis Contreras (Liz) of Lansing, MI., Fernando Chavarria (Rosy) of Mexico, Felipe Contreras (Irene) of Marshall, TX, Jose Alberto Contreras of Marshall, TX, Joel Contreras (Lucia) of Laredo, TX, Mercedes Castañon (Martin) of Brownsville, TX, Sylvia Contreras (Juan) of Weslaco, TX, Alejandrina Contreras of Weslaco, TX, Maria De Jesus Rodriguez of Mission, TX and Leticia Contreras-Ruffin (Jermaine) of Detroit, MI; and his sister Manuela C. Reyes. He is also survived by 62 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.
