She was predeceased by: her parents, Victoriano Alanis and Mercedes Gonzales; her husband Leonel Vargas; her son Onofre Vargas; her siblings, Maria Valdez, Sylvestra Perez (Pedro), Isabelle Salas (Thomas), Victoria Salinas (Elmo) and Isidro Alanis (Melida); her sons-in-law, Oscar J. Garcia and Leo Soloman; and her granddaughter Martha Marie Moreno.
She is survived by: her children, Arturo Contreras, Esmeralda Blanco, George Moreno, Petra V. Garcia and Diana Vargas (Erasmo Esparza); her siblings, Rogelio Alanis (Adela) and Connie Valdez; and her grandchildren, Michelle Rodriguez (Jeffrey), Cynthia Garcia (Baldo), Thomas Blanco, Jennifer Rios (Juan), Jonathan Gonzalez (Denise), Amalia Gonzalez, Loraine Partida (Rey), Eufemia Garcia (Mike), Melissa Moreno, George Moreno, Connie May Sanchez (Sam), Connie Lin Garcia, Ernie Rey Garcia, Jeffrey Esparza and Joseph Esparza. She is also survived by twenty-two great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
