She was predeceased by: her parents, Pablo Abeldaño and Felicitas Abeldaño (Martinez); her husband Guadalupe "Lupe" Gamez; her daughter-in-law Alicia Gamez; her brother Roberto Abeldaño; her nephews, Roberto Barbosa Jr., Noe Rodriguez, Jose Antonio Rodriguez and Sylvestre Rodriguez Jr.; and her niece Letty (Terry Lopez).
She is survived by: her children, Elma Gamez Zamora (Eddie Galvan), Guadalupe "Lupe" Gamez Jr., Jose "Joe" Gamez (Lucy) and Dahlia "Yaya" Gamez Rodriguez (Joe); her grandchildren, Carlos Zamora, Michael Lee Zamora (Amanda), Denise Gamez, Pablo Gamez (Elizabeth), Danielle Rae Gamez, Joseph Gamez, Alyssa Gamez, Yvonne Tristan (Chris), Kassie Rodriguez (Jacob Saucedo), Jennifer Rodriguez and Lori Rodriguez (Carlos Ledesma); and her siblings, Alfonso Abeldaño (Mine), Rolando Abeldaño, Pedro Abeldaño, Ramiro Abeldaño (Rosemary), Rosa Barbosa, Maria Rodriguez (Sylvestre Sr.), Teresa Ramirez and Rachel Villarreal (Joe). She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the McCaleb Funeral Home (900 W 4th St, Weslaco, TX 78596). A prayer will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sacred Park Cemetery (12506 Mile 2 W, Mercedes, TX 78570, USA).
