He is survived by: his wife Hortencia Nuñez of Weslaco, TX; his children, Esmeralda Castillo (Juan) of Weslaco, TX and Alfredo Nuñez, Jr. (Samantha) of Weslaco, TX; his sisters, Josefina Alaniz of Edinburg, TX and Maria De La Luz; and his grandchildren, Joshua Palacio, Jared Palacio, Jonathan Castillo, Jazmin Palacio, Aylin Castillo, Andrew Nuñez, Adriana Nuñez and Anthony Nuñez.
