He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Agapito and Dolores Garcia Fernandez; and his siblings, Francisco Fernandez, Ramon Fernandez, Isabel De Leon and Rosa Maria Fernandez.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Hilaria Jasso of Fernandez; and his daughters, Claudia Fernandez and Esmeralda Fernandez. He is also survived by two grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
