She is survived by: her parents, Rogelio Vela and Juana Reyes Vela; her close friend Epitacio Salas; her children, Israel Acosta, Jr. and Ava Acosta; and her siblings, Roy Vela, Jr. (Anna), Moy Vela (Wendy) and Mari Lee Vela (Nick Derr).
