He is survived by: his wife Sandra of Wellington; his daughters, Lynna Janes (Kyle) of Shamrock, Carla Biehl (Greg) of Clyde, Janna May (David) of Allen, Paula Hays (Collin) of Amarillo and Connie Nunnelley of Amarillo; his stepchildren, Stacey Fires of Lubbock, Wiley Fires (Katherine) of Shamrock and Jeff Fires of Wellington; his grandchildren, Magen Ann Carter (Micah), Malanee Ann Janes, Jace Shelton Biehl, Macy May, Austin May, Ben Hays, Mollie Kay Hays, Ethan Fires, Eli Fires, Rance Fires, Christopher Fires and Alexander Fires; and his great grandchildren, Jessica and Jackson Carter.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Rhett's Syndrome Foundation or the Wellington Cemetery Association.
