She was loved and cherished by many people including: her daughter Allison Berry Gabriles (Louis Gabriles III); her granddaughter Charlie Marilyn Herrin; her siblings, Connie French Jones, Robert French (Janet) and David French (Yvonne); her husband Jerry Winters; and her parents, James Leonard French and Mary Frances French (Mickie). She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

She ended up battling Alzheimer's for the last 16 years.
