He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sandra; his children, Rod Gates (Patti) and Suzanne Allen (David); his grandchildren, Lauren Allen, Connor Allen and Jacob Gates; and his sisters, Doris Layton (Johnny), Laura Evans (Steve), Karen Trobl (Jimmy), Frances McEntire (Larry) and Glenda Currie (Jack). He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
