In the sacred silence of farewell, Billy Gene is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin McMurrough and Ivy Ione McMurrough; his brother Bobby McMurrough; and his son-in-law Michael Harris. He is survived by: his children, Susan Harris and Kenny McMurrough; his grandsons, Billy Gene Holmes (Tammy) and Joe Harden; his great grandchildren, Taylee Holmes and Brantley Holmes; and his brother Ronny McMurrough.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Abundant Life Church (12165 Hwy 75 N, Willis, TX 77378). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Forest Park East Cemetery (21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598).
